(DE) Joana Rüschoff, besser bekannt als Juju Rush, ist 21 Jahre alt und einer der Neuzugänge bei dem Euphoric Hardcore Label Rapture Records. Joana kommt gebürtig aus Hamburg, lebt aber seit anderthalb Jahren in den Niederlanden. Hier studiert sie Industrie Design und arbeitet neben dem Studium als Musikproduzentin. Sie spielt Gitarre, Klavier und ist eine gute Sängerin. „All diese Dinge sind sehr hilfreich bei der Musikproduktion und wenn ich in drei Semestern mit meinem Studium durch bin, habe ich Zeit, um mich zu 100 % auf die Musik zu konzentrieren.“
Angefangen hat sie im Alter von 15 Jahren. Sie produzierte Beats für Freunde ohne einen größeren Hintergedanken. Mit dem Umzug 2019 änderte sich das schlagartig. Sie sah Lil Texas auf dem ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) und entschied für sich, dass genau diese Musik einfach das einzig Wahre ist. Die Leidenschaft für die Musik und das Produzieren führte schnell zu großen Fortschritten. Dabei war das Schwerste zu Beginn für sie das Interface ihrer Software zu verstehen. Sie wusste, dass sie im Verhältnis ungewöhnlich schnell viel gelernt hatte, dennoch hat sie am Anfang drei bis vier Monate nur damit verbracht, Tutorials über jede einzelne Funktion ihrer DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) zu schauen. „Das ist echt hart, aber es lohnt sich, wenn man dann erstmal einen gewissen Punkt erreicht hat.“
Die harte Arbeit zahlte sich schneller aus als gedacht. Re-Style, ein bekannter Künstler der Hard Dance Music Szene, schrieb sie im letzten Jahr gegen Ende des Sommers an und ließ sich ein Demo schicken. Er war von ihrem Können überzeugt und sagte ihr, dass ihr erster Track etwas Besonderes werden müsse und am 26.03.2021 war es dann so weit – ihr erster Track Catchin Fire wurde released. Das Ganze schien so unwirklich, da sie nicht geglaubt hatte so schnell so weit zu kommen und genau wie erwartet wurde der Track etwas Besonderes.
Er besticht durch eine Ohrwurm Melodie mit satten Bässen, knackigen Kicks und schönen Vocals. Direkt am Anfang fällt die Zahl 999 gleich mehrfach. Mit ihr verbindet sie eine besondere Art zu leben. Der Künstler Juice Wrld brachte sie dazu. Es bedeutet so viel wie: „Nimm die schlechten Dinge, die dir im Leben passieren und transformiere diese Energie in etwas Positives. Es war die Art zu denken, die mir durch eine wirklich schwere Zeit geholfen hat, weswegen ich auch in meinem ersten Song Catching Fire darüber geschrieben habe. Der inoffizielle Titel für Catching Fire war übrigens 999.“
Die Inspiration für diesen und auch noch kommende Songs nimmt die junge Produzentin von vielen verschiedenen Künstlern aus komplett unterschiedlichen Musikrichtungen. Als richtiges Vorbild nennt sie allerdings ausschließlich Juice Wrld und Yellow Claw. „Yellow Claw waren die ersten Künstler, bei denen ich mich in die Musik verliebe. Ich halte sie für eine der besten Producer was Qualität und Vielfalt angeht.“

Sie entdeckte sie für sich, nachdem sie das DJ Duo das erste Mal live auf einem Festival gesehen hatte. „Ich habe zuvor noch nie Musik gehört, die mich emotional so mitgenommen hat und bei der ich wirklich sagen konnte, dass ich verliebt in die Musik bin. Juice Wrld hingegen ist für mich einfach eine riesige Inspiration da ich seinen Sound und Texte einfach feiere und mich in ihnen auch immer wieder finde.“ Zusätzlich kommt ein Teil ihrer Inspiration von der Film- und klassischen Musik.
Die kommende Zeit wird sie nutzen, um ihren Sound zu verbessern und um mehr Musik zu produzieren. Dabei geht es aber laut der Künstlerin nicht darum, auf Regeln oder auf ein bestimmtes Genre zu achten. Dennoch werden 200 bpm immer das bevorzugte Tempo bleiben. „Es gibt viele Wege Frenchcore zu produzieren die noch nicht entdeckt wurden.“ Zum Beispiel wäre es für sie echt interessant mit Lil Texas, Billx, und natürlich Yellow Claw Musik zu machen. Aber auch hier ist das Genre erstmal egal. „Ich muss mich nur gut mit dem Künstler verstehen und den Vibe teilen. Zwar ist das wahrscheinlich etwas unrealistisch, aber mit Miley Cyrus zu arbeiten wäre nice. Ich liebe ihre Stimme!“
